2 Million Words ‘Turkey Encyclopedia’ Has Been Created

Turkish-born Egyptian Abdullah Habib, with his love for Turkey, which he considers semi-homeland, has prepared a digital encyclopedia to create an accurate source of information about our country. Turkey’s first digital encyclopedia with a capacity of more than 2 million words and 14 language options ‘Turkpidya’ opened to access.

Habib about his project “Some of our relatives participated in the War of Independence and many had to migrate to Egypt. That’s why we consider Turkey a half-homeland. I have been living in Turkey for the last 4 years and I hope to get citizenship.‘ he said.

Habib, who came to Turkey as a student at the age of 20 and has lived here for 4 years, spent his childhood listening to his Turkish ancestors from his elders. When he encountered many wrong information in his researches about Turkey, to create the right source of information has dreamed. He founded Turkpidya, a digital encyclopedia, in order to present original and accurate sources about Turkey with new media technologies.

Content is produced in 5 categories: economy, culture, city, history and tourism. The two-person team that prepared Turkpidya grew rapidly and reached 15 authors. The digital encyclopedia, which has a translation option in 14 languages ​​and has a vocabulary of 2 million, attracted attention from all over the world. Abdullah Habib, especially in the Balkan, Caucasian, USA and Arab countries reached nearly 200 countries stated.

Habib is not limited to the point we have reached as the Turkpidya team, but has added many new contents to the digital encyclopedia. that they plan to add 46 more languages told. He stated that he is very happy and proud to be the founder of a platform that delivers accurate information about Turkey to the world.
