Frankfurt The test of patience has come to an end: the Federal Ministry of Economics is launching a new subsidy for energy-saving houses. This was announced by the Ministry of Robert Habeck (Greens) on Tuesday.

In January, the Ministry of Economics surprisingly announced that with immediate effect no new applications for the promotion of efficient buildings could be submitted to the state development bank KfW. Thousands of funding applications remained unfulfilled, housing companies announced claims for damages against the federal government.

Energy-saving new buildings are now again being supported by the state through the new program: Minister Habeck announced that funding for new buildings according to the EH40 standard will be resumed from April 20th. However, there is probably less money: Because the federal government has reduced the subsidy rates and changed the subsidy conditions.

So what is in store for builders, what do they have to reckon with? The Handelsblatt presents the most important facts and offers an overview of the details that the ministry has already mentioned.
