Qualcomm’s new favorite Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 scored 1311 in single-core and 4070 in multi-core in the Geekbench 5 performance test. Of the 8-core chips used, 4 are running at 2.02 GHz, 3 at 2.75 GHz, and 1 at 3.19 GHz.
When we look at the performance test results of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was released last year, we see that it got 1219 points in a single core and 3826 points in a multi-core. Again, this 8-core chip is running at 1.8 GHz, 4 of them at 2.5 GHz, and 1 of them at 3 GHz.

Of course, it should be noted that the clock speeds of the versions of this new processor used in models such as the Rog Phone can be improved and the current test performance can be increased by 10 to 15 percent. So this may not be the final version we will come across.
However, it will not be as easy as it seems to take the smartphone processor market from MediaTek. Because many brands may turn to their competitors instead of Qualcomm, with which they have been working for years, even in their 5G supported or flagship-class devices. Especially in this period of chip crisis, we see that low cost is more preferred.
