Post increases forecast again

Dusseldorf After a jump in sales and profits in the quarter, Deutsche Post is again setting higher goals in view of its booming parcel and express business and flourishing world trade. The operating income (EBIT) will rise to a record value of 7.7 billion euros in 2021, the Bonn-based company announced on Thursday.

Previously, the post had promised more than seven billion euros. In the medium term, too, she wants to earn more, the earnings outlook for 2023 has been raised to more than eight billion euros, previously it was more than 7.4 billion euros.

In October, based on preliminary figures, the Post reported an increase in EBIT in the third quarter to 1.7 (previous year: 1.377) billion euros. Sales rose in the quarter by 23.5 percent to around 20 billion euros. Swiss Post is optimistic about the important Christmas business, also in view of the continuing boom in online retail.
