The Stage Manager feature that comes with iPadOS 16 has been released only for new iPad models, while older models are now supported.

In addition, with Stage Manager, users will be able to create windows of different sizes on a single screen. These windows, which will move according to the user’s request, can be dragged and dropped. In this way, application groups can also be created.

For now, other new features in iPadOS 16.1 include new collaboration tools, improved Focus features, customizable app toolbars, and smaller system-wide changes. M-series iPad owners also get a host of special features, such as virtual memory swap and reference mode.

The update is more limited for iPad owners without an M-series processor. Apart from the updates that come with iOS 16, iPads will include the Weather app, app improvements such as context menu improvements and custom toolbars, and a new collaboration app called Freeform.
