The gun, which was offered for sale in the Turkish market as Sarsılmaz SAR9 SP, took its place in the inventory of a police department in the state of Texas in America under the name SAR9 SOCOM. The SOCOM pistol model of the SAR9 product family, which was selected as the pistol of the year in the USA for the second time, was designed and produced for Special Forces and was given to the police for use in the Galveston Police Department in the US state of Texas.
The 9 mm pistol is produced by Sarsılmaz, a 150-year-old brand, for use by special forces under harsh conditions. Shootings were made at the range with the pistols given to the Galveston police, with features taken from the SAR9 family. Police Chief Doug Balli praised the reliability and perfect shooting comfort of SAR9 SOCOM.
