SpaceX, which broke new ground in the space industry and used the same rocket in dozens of missions, broke the news with a new record. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced that they will carry a total of 1000 tons of orbit satellites in 2023 with the Falcon 9 rocket.

Making a statement about the issue on the X (Twitter) account, Musk said, “This is much more than the number of launches of any country with its entire rocket fleet in a year. The second is the record of the Soviet Union, with approximately 500 tons. “For comparison with today’s space efforts, the rest of the world has launched about 250 tons of satellites into orbit so far this year—mostly by China.” He stated:
According to the announced data, there are currently more than 3,500 Starlink satellites in orbit. Considering that this number will increase rapidly in the future, Starlink will soon take tight control of the near-Earth orbital space.
It’s not yet clear whether this increase will cause problems for future space mission launches, but we’ve heard concerns in the past about how Starlink and others are filling up the space around our planet.
