In a post shared by Chainalysis, which works closely with the US government, an unknown person used a feature in the Bitcoin blockchain to document transactions, controlled by the Russian Foreign Military Intelligence Agency (GRU), Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), and Federal Security Service (FSB). It was stated that it detected 986 wallets.

In messages written in Russian, the person who revealed the addresses accuses the wallets of being involved in hacker activities.

Backing the claims of the mysterious Bitcoin user, Chainalysis says that at least three of the purse addresses allegedly belonging to Russia were previously associated with Russia by third parties. Two of them are said to have been involved in the Solarwinds attack, while the third is said to have paid for servers used in Russia’s 2016 US election disinformation campaign.
