How Could the SEC XRP Case End? Famous Lawyer Evaluated! Here are the Possible Scenarios!

As is known, last week Judge Analisa Torres of the SEC XRP He rejected the appeal request.

Stating that there was confusion regarding the outcome of the case after this rejection decision. American lawyer Jeremy Hogan, SEC–Ripple He shared possible scenarios about his case.

Thinking that the SEC was not in a good position in the case at this point, Jeremy Hogan predicted various scenarios going forward for the case and the likelihood of each of them occurring.

Adding a timeline for possible scenarios, Hogan stated that the outcome of the case could extend until 2027.

“I see some confusion about what might happen next in the Ripple v. SEC case, as the judge rejected the interlocutory appeal.

That’s why I’ve outlined each possibility for the case and shared the chances of each possibility occurring and how long each will take.

First possibility: The SEC may try to extend the case and focus the case on two Ripple executives named as defendants alongside Ripple Labs, Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen, at the hearing scheduled for April 2024.

I see the probability of this possibility occurring as 39,456 out of 100.

Second possibility: SEC could hire Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen while awaiting final decision against Ripple Labs.

The probability of this happening is 32.113%, and in my opinion, this is the SEC’s best option.

Third possibility: The SEC will reach a full settlement with Ripple Labs and individual defendants Garlinghouse and Larsen in the case. But the SEC has so far shown little willingness to compromise.

The probability of this happening is 18.987% and settlement could be a good option for the SEC. “

What Happened?

In December 2020, the SEC filed a lawsuit against Ripple Labs and other defendants. In this case, in July 2023, Analisa Torres, a district judge in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, issued a “Summary Judgment” in favor of Ripple.

The SEC appealed this decision in August 2023, but its request was denied by Judge Torres in October 2023.
