Cryptocurrency exchange, Bitfinex, announced in its statement that it will begin to serve in Turkey.
In its tweet titled “Welcome to Istanbul”, Bitfinex Turkey made the following announcement:

What is Bitfinex, a Cryptocurrency Exchange Launched in Turkey?
Bitfinex is a cryptocurrency exchange owned and operated by iFinex Inc, registered in the British Virgin Islands.
Bitfinex was founded in December 2012 as a peer-to-peer Bitcoin exchange offering digital asset trading services to users worldwide. Bitfinex initially started as a P2P margin lending platform for Bitcoin and later added support for more cryptocurrencies.
In August 2016, Bitfinex announced that it had suffered a major security breach. Immediately after, the market price of Bitcoin dropped by 20%. In this attack, which is the second largest breach of the Bitcoin exchange, 119,756 Bitcoins were stolen, worth approximately $72 million at the time. Bitcoins were stolen from customers’ separate wallets, and Bitfinex announced that it was tracking the hack. Even exchange customers whose accounts were not logged in had their account balance reduced by 36% and they received BFX tokens in proportion to their losses.
On October 15, 2021, it was announced that Bitfinex would pay a $1.5 million penalty to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission for engaging in over-the-counter retail commodities transactions in digital assets with American citizens.
Bitfinex plans to open an office in El Salvador by January 2023. El Salvador plans to launch the “volcano” token this year, which will be issued using blockchain technology and traded on Bitfinex’s exchange.
