Frankfurt “Friendly living space in a well-kept living environment – that’s what the Dippoldiswalde eG housing cooperative offers you”: This is how the company from the eastern Ore Mountains advertises on its website. But the housing association is facing completely unfriendly comments on social media.

Because in a letter, the board had announced that one had to “save for the winter” – and therefore adjust the operating times for heating and hot water: The heating would remain switched off until September, and hot water would only be available for the tenants of the around 600 apartments certain times. If you want to take a shower between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. on a workday, you have to be prepared for refreshment.

“We ask for your understanding,” writes the board of directors. But gas and electricity prices have gone up. In addition, the step had already been announced at the general meeting. Several media had previously reported on the measure.
