Speaking in a recent YouTube post by Bankless Anatoly Yakovenko, founder of Solanashared his predictions for both Solana and the crypto market for the next 12-18 months.

Despite challenging macroeconomic conditions in the future, the Solana founder believes that despite these challenges, crypto cannot stop its unprecedented development.

Putting a parenthesis on this, Anatoly Yakovenko said that investments could move away from less established blockchain projects like SOL if the FED continues to raise interest rates to reduce inflation.

“I think this question is of paramount importance to any smart contract platform other than Ethereum: Will we be in a high-interest rate environment where all risky investments are devalued over the next five years?

Even so, I remain optimistic about Solana’s future.

Even with an economic downturn, I think Solana’s market share in NFT projects will provide enough value to sustain SOL.”

General cryptocurrency Talking about the market, Yakovenko said that he predicts that innovation in the crypto space will increase at a rate never seen before, and that these innovations will help the industry move forward successfully even in difficult economic times.

“Right now 2018 I feel much more bullish than in 2019.

My guess is that if you look at all the innovations from crypto’s inception so far and what’s going to happen in the next 12 to 18 months, what’s going to happen in the next 12 to 18 months will probably be much more than the sum of the innovations in the cryptocurrency industry so far.

And if people are still launching their new products, struggling to adapt to the product market, that means cryptocurrencies will survive.”
