New York City, the most populous city in the USA, got its 110th new mayor. Adams, the second black president of New York, received 66% of the vote. Eric Adams, who will take office on January 1, 2022, has an important feature that distinguishes him from other presidential candidates.
The 61-year-old Democratic candidate made two important promises to residents during his election campaign.
Its first promise is to restore New York’s former glory, which it lost due to the pandemic. Secondly, and most importantly, to make New York a crypto city.
During the election campaign, Adams promised to create a perfect city where no one is left behind, saying:
I promise the residents of New York. When I am elected, you will see a different city in 1 year.
New York will be the hub of science, technology, cybersecurity, dreones and Bitcoin.
Eric Adams is not the first president to take a pro-crypto stance and support Bitcoin. Other mayors of the US, like Adams, are trying to make their own city a crypto city.
Although the municipality of Miami, the first city to issue its own native token, is one step ahead in this regard, new Bitcoin mining facilities continue to be established in the state of Texas.
