Frankfurt The Berlin neobank Nuri is growing rapidly: According to the bank, the number of customers has doubled to almost 500,000 since April last year. “We’re doing better than ever,” says Nuri boss Kristina Walcker-Meyer in an interview with the Handelsblatt.
“People are unsettled by the continued rise in inflation and the extreme fluctuations on the stock markets,” says Walcker-Meyer, who has been at the helm of the neobank for a year.
Overall, the bank currently manages total assets of around 500 million euros, at the end of 2020 it was more than 100 million euros. Sales have also quadrupled over the past year, and the Berliners are targeting sales of almost ten million euros for 2021.
Nuri does not want to publish more concrete figures. According to the Nuri boss, the costs have developed in line with the growth of the company.
