One of the innovations that Google introduced on the first day of the I/O 2022 event was Google Wallet. As it is known, the company has implemented this application before. But it disappeared by merging with Google Pay. Google today updated the application in a much more expanded way and made it available.

In summary, the wallet will be used to store and manage debit and credit cards on Android devices. However, the usage areas will not be limited only to this. It can store credit cards, digital IDs, transit cards, concert tickets, car keys and more.

On the other hand, the company stated that Google Wallet can integrate with Wallets of other apps. The wallet, which can also be used in public transport cards, will bring an important feature. Google Wallet with a public transport card will be able to display the remaining amount and possible routes with Maps.

While the new wallet was introduced, the status of Google Pay was a matter of curiosity. On the subject, Arnold Goldberg, the company’s VP and General Manager of Payments, stated that the Google Pay application will be a companion application to the wallet.
