Ethereum Developer Tim Beiko Sets Important Dates for ETH

Ethereum developer Tim Beiko shared the following on Twitter:

“Prater will go through the Bellatrix upgrade on August 4 and merge with Goerli from August 6-12. If you are running a node or validator, this is your last chance to go through this process before the mainnet.”

Details appeared in a shared blog post.

The blog post said the following on the subject:

“Goerli will merge with Prater for the final testnet proof-of-stake transition. The merged Goerli/Prater network will retain the post-merger name Goerli. The Bellatrix upgrade, which prepares the Prater for Unification, will occur on the expected epoch 112260 on August 4, 2022.

Once Bellatrix is activated, the Goerli/Prater merger will occur when the Goerli testnet reaches the expected total difficulty of 10790000 between August 6-12, 2022.”

The following statements were included in the blog post:

“After the merge, Goerli’s validator system will remain open for individual stakers to run testnet validators. Stakers wishing to launch a Goerli/Prater validator can do so on the Prater Launchpad.”

As previously reported, such mergers are rehearsals for the eventual mainnet merger. So far, the Ropsten and Seploia networks have been combined with their own beacon chains.

Bitcoin and altcoins have rebounded to levels last seen last week after the Fed announced Wednesday that it would raise interest rates by 0.75 percentage points.
