Xiaomi aims to exceed 20 Megapixel resolution in under-display cameras

As you know, in August of last year, Xiaomi’s first under-screen camera model, MIX 4, was showcased. The selfie camera of the smartphone had a resolution of 20 Megapixels. However, since the technology was still in its infancy, it was not possible to compare it to existing selfie cameras in terms of shooting ability.

Recently, information is that Xiaomi has important plans regarding under-screen camera technology. Because the company has partnered with Huaxing Optoelectronics to take the technology to the next level. Various tests have started on the FHD+ resolution panels produced by the company.

The technology, which the company is currently testing, has a special circuit designed to hide more components under the RGB sub-pixels on the panel. In this way, the light transmittance is greatly increased by adopting a new pixel arrangement. This results in clearer images.

Xiaomi’s aim is to be able to use selfie cameras with higher resolution and pixel count in its flagship models from now on. At this point, it is aimed to use an under-screen selfie camera with a higher resolution than its predecessor in the MIX 5 model, which is expected to be released in the future.
