In 2021, cryptocurrencies were accepted as a means of payment by many large and small companies or businesses.
A recent survey by payments giant Visa shows that this trend will continue into 2022.
Visa surveyed 2,250 small business owners in nine countries, including the United States, Singapore, Canada, Germany and Russia.
According to the results of the survey, a quarter of participating small businesses said they plan to accept digital currencies as a payment method by 2022.
75 percent of the surveyed businesses stated that it is inevitable to add new ways to payment systems.
Visa also asked 1,000 adults from the US and 500 adults from each of the other countries some questions about cryptocurrencies as part of the survey.
13% of consumers surveyed said they expect more retail outlets to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment method by 2022.
Jeni Mundy, Visa’s head of commercial sales, said:I think more people feel more secure about crypto. Businesses ask themselves, “What other forms of payment can we take?” they ask.” said.
Saying that adopting cryptocurrencies could be a natural evolution for many small companies transitioning to new digital payment forms, Mundy stated that the same is true for developing countries.
