Frankfurt Despite increased protective measures by banks, the number of explosive attacks on ATMs has hardly decreased. In the first six months of 2023, the 16 State Criminal Police Offices (LKA) registered 240 attacks on ATMs, according to a survey by the Handelsblatt. Both blasting attempts and blastings that have taken place are counted.

According to the LKA, there were around 260 attacks in the first half of 2022, and almost 500 for the year as a whole – more than ever before.
