The seven problems of the health minister

Berlin Karl Lauterbach sounds a bit exhausted when you talk to him on the phone these days. Now a new problem has emerged for the Federal Minister of Health. Several federal states want to postpone the vaccination requirement for employees in clinics, nursing homes, medical and dental practices, rescue and nursing services and other facilities, which will actually apply from mid-March.

It’s not Lauterbach’s only construction site, and criticism of his crisis management is growing. He, who shaped the communication of this pandemic like no other politician, but is also considered to be obstinate, has to learn that it is not a good idea not to coordinate his actions in detail with the countries; to overwhelm them.

The federal-state summit this Monday will be a test for him, because his actions have raised questions that need to be answered. Added to this are homegrown and structural problems.
