“The myth of Silicon Valley has been lost”

Dusseldorf Many technology companies claim to revolutionize entire industries with their inventions. Is that actually true? Silicon Valley correspondent Stephan Scheuer explores this question in the new episode of Handelsblatt Disrupt.

His conversation partner Adrian Daub, Professor of Comparative Literature and German Studies at the renowned Stanford University, got to know many founders. He has a different opinion: For him, supposedly disruptive ideas often turn out to be empty marketing phrases. “The myth of Silicon Valley has been lost,” he says.

In the podcast, Daub and Scheuer talk about the importance of Stanford University in Silicon Valley and explore the question of why tech founders drop out of their studies after just a few semesters, but then long for student life.
