The Turkish Language Association (TDK) has published the 12th edition of the Turkish Dictionary. Along with the dictionary, the spelling of many words commonly used in daily life among the people was accepted as official. Also, the spelling of a county has changed.
With the 12th edition of the Contemporary Turkish Dictionary, TDK reconsidered the spelling of some words that have become rosewood in our language. For example, in written language “title” instead of “title” error is no longer an error. This usage, which was previously considered incorrect, will now be accepted as correct as it is included in the Turkish Current Dictionary.
TDK also named the Doğubeyazıt district of Ağrı. “Dogubeyazit” as updated. The name of the county was already used in both forms in many official or unofficial sources. “Dogubeyazit” can now be considered a misspelling.

- scallion -> scallion (current)
- green pepper -> green pepper (current)
- lily of the valley -> white lily (current)
- maple pear -> maple pear (current)
- dodgeball -> dodgeball (current)
- trustee -> trustee (current)
- undercover -> under the mat (current)
- hit the horn -> kick the horn (current)
- relegate -> relegate (current)

The number of Turkish vocabulary has also been updated:
In the renewed Contemporary Turkish Dictionary, a total of 82 thousand 135 per item and 18 thousand 133 within the article. 132 thousand 334 words, terms, phrases and meanings is located. In addition, there are 45,372 sample sentences showing the correct use of all this vocabulary in the dictionary. The total text length of the dictionary is 756 thousand 396 words.
