Several dead after heavy Russian rocket attack on Kiev
At least three people, including two children, were killed in a Russian rocket attack on Kiev, according to Ukrainian authorities. “According to the doctors, there are now 14 injured in the Dniprovsky and Desnyansky districts, 9 had to be hospitalized,” said Mayor Vitali Klitschko on his Telegram channel on Thursday morning.
According to the military administration in Kiev, the city was attacked at around 3 a.m. local time (2 a.m. CEST) with ground-based cruise missiles. Although they were shot down by anti-aircraft guns, the debris resulted in many casualties and extensive damage.
“It’s children’s day. And the racists carry out another attack on our capital and kill. Killing Ukrainian children,” Kyiv’s military administration chief Serhiy Popko wrote on his Telegram channel. The word ‘racists’ is a combination of ‘Rascha’, as Russia is pronounced in English, and fascist. It has been used as a swear word for the Russian occupiers in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
