Statement from the Deputy Minister about Starlink’s application to Türkiye!

SpaceX’s satellite internet service starlinkhas started its activities in many parts of the world. One of the most curious topics about Starlink, which provides space-based services, is when it will operate in our country. Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan made a statement on the subject.

As previously reported, SpaceX requested to put Starlink into service in Turkey. The company’s phenomenon CEO, Elon Musk, recently came to Turkey to talk about many important issues. It appears that progress is being made in the talks.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Sayan made the following statements regarding the issue;

Our consultation meeting on service delivery via Low Orbit Satellites; It continues with the participation of our public institutions and their affiliated companies and private sector representatives. We are evaluating the necessary regulation process for Starlink’s request to operate in our country with all actors of our industry.

We will reveal Turkey’s security, commercial, technical and financial sensitivities and determine the requirements regarding the authorization process. We will join hands and work with everyone who wants to accompany and support a road map that we will draw for the future and progress of our country. We will be pleased to invite companies that comply with the authorization requirements that we will issue as a result of the process to our country.

Starlink subscription fees vary by country. However, users must purchase a $599 kit on their first subscription. Additionally, internet subscription prices range from $90 to $250 in the USA.
