Vodafone came out with a film highlighting the positive effects of women’s volleyball in Turkey on March 8, International Women’s Day.
The 18-month project, carried out with the support of important stakeholders such as the US Consulate General in Istanbul, Kadir Has University, Akbank, Sisters Lab, The Diana Initiative and Marjinal Porter Novelli, aims to increase the competencies of the participants in the field of cyber security, improve their knowledge on different subjects, offer the opportunity to meet mentors and provide internships to a limited number of participants. There are targets such as providing opportunities.
Marvin Alfaro, Cultural Consul of the US Consulate General in Istanbul, stated that She4Cyber is an important step towards the empowerment of women in the world of cyber security and that the project reflects the US’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The manager of the project is Assoc. Dr. Salih Bıçakçı stated that gender balance will contribute greatly to the strengthening of teams in the cyber security sector and that this project offers great opportunities for new participants in the sector. Bıçakçı added that following the success of the project, the search for financial support for new projects to increase the number of women in the cyber security sector will continue.
