Regulation Preventing Electric Car Imports Has Been Canceled

There has been a new development regarding the “Communiqué on the Import of Certain Electric Vehicles”, which almost completely prevents the import of electric cars from China. With the new notification published in the Official Gazette dated today (31 December 2023), the said Conditions preventing imports have been completely removed.

As a reminder for those who don’t know; In the previously published circular, the following conditions had to be met to import electric vehicles:

• In 7 regions of Turkey at least 20 service points will need to install
• The personnel who will work in the service center must have certificates approved by TSE or the Vocational Qualifications Authority. to the authorization certificate will have to have it.
• The brand has at least 40 staff call center will establish.
• Brand to Turkey authorized representative will appoint.
• Brand on vehicles will follow the batteries.

The new communiqué removed obstacles to electric vehicle imports

The new regulation continues the requirement to establish at least 20 service points in 7 regions of Turkey, but this condition only applies to those defined in the Highway Traffic Regulation. M class and will be mandatory for L6 and L7 classes with M class vehicle equipment. M class vehicles MOPED also called, Vehicles whose speed does not exceed 45 km/h Let us state that it is. In other words, any automobile class is not included in the obligation in question.
