Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) did not remain indifferent to the developing Blockchain technology in the world. IMM is developing the “smart city” project, which has an important place in its 2050 vision, step by step.
IMM said that with the Blockchain project, citizens will have a digital wallet and in this wallet, all data belonging to the services that citizens receive from the municipality will be stored securely without being lost.
İBB gave the following statements in its written statement on the subject:
“As part of the project, a digital wallet service will be offered to Istanbul residents. Citizens will be able to easily access all data in the units they receive service from. Thanks to the project, citizens will be provided with great convenience in the provision of documents and documents.
The project will be implemented in İSKİ, İGDAŞ and İSMEK in the first stage. Citizens will be able to securely protect their documents in their digital wallets. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to make natural gas and water subscriptions through this technology.
These services of IMM will be provided in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law. Thanks to BlokZincir, the same documents will not have to be given over and over, and both the process, printed documents and time will be saved.”
The BlokZincir Project, which will be implemented for the first time in the public sector in Turkey, won the first place in the IDC Turkey Digital Transformation 2021 awards of International Data Corporation (IDC), one of the most important technology authorities in the world.
