SDN Summit, which we organize as Turkey’s largest technology site, continues on its first day with important guests and panels. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, who was our guest on the first day, answered the questions of SDN Founder Hakkı Alkan and made special statements for the SDN Summit.

Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, made important statements on the use of artificial intelligence and ethical values. Minister Kacır emphasized that artificial intelligence should be for the benefit of humanity and stated that it is imperative to establish an ethical framework at the international level. The Minister pointed out that countries leading artificial intelligence technologies should work for the benefit of their citizens.

Minister of Industry and Technology Kacır also detailed the support Turkey provides in the field of technology and R&D. Explaining that Turkey has increased its technology production capacity with 102 technoparks and more than 10,000 R&D companies, the Minister stated that 14 billion liras of resources were transferred to 3800 projects by TÜBİTAK. He stated that these projects made significant contributions to Turkey’s scientific and technological development.

Touching on the importance of support for young people in the field of technology and entrepreneurship, Minister Kacır said that it is aimed to make local enterprises competitive in the global market with financial support of up to 900,000 TL offered to young entrepreneurs. The Minister emphasized that these supports allow young people to implement their innovative ideas.

Touching on the developments in the electric vehicles and renewable energy sector, Minister Kacır gave the example of TOGG and shared Turkey’s investments and goals in this field. He stated that the work carried out for electric vehicle infrastructure and plans to increase renewable energy capacity show Turkey’s commitment to environmentally friendly technologies. The Minister stated that Turkey aims to increase the market share of electric and rechargeable hybrid vehicles to 35% by 2030.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that artificial intelligence-focused training and workshops will be held all over Turkey.

Minister Kacır stated that the steps taken by Turkey in the field of technology and industry will enable the country to take a stronger position in global competition and make significant contributions to economic development. He emphasized that these developments will increase young people’s interest in technology and innovative initiatives and strengthen Turkey’s position as a science and technology center.
