Actor Ian Gelder, known for his role as Kevan Lannister, one of the unforgettable characters of the Game of Thrones series, passed away at the age of 74. News of Gelder’s death was announced by her husband and colleague Ben Daniels in an Instagram post on Tuesday. Daniels, in his post, “Writing this article is nothing but a heavy heart that makes me deeply sad.” He shared his feelings and a photo of the couple using expressions.

Gelder died Monday after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December, Daniels said. Gelder’s death was attributed to a disease called cholangiocarcinoma, a rare disease in which cancer cells form in the tubes connecting the bile duct, liver, gallbladder and small intestine, according to the National Cancer Institute in the United States.

In his article, Daniels described Gelder as “the kindest, most generous and loving person” and emphasized that he was a “great actor.” He stated that Gelder is an actor who impresses audiences with his stage and screen performances.

Apart from “Game of Thrones”, Ian Gelder’s television career has included prominent roles in series such as “Torchwood”, “Doctor Who” and “EastEnders”. He also appeared in the 2009 movie “Pope Joan”.
