What does Huawei Cloud bring?

The ‘Huawei Turkey Cloud Summit’, where Huawei’s local cloud services in Turkey were introduced, was held on July 12 at Istanbul Çırağan Palace. Public officials, senior executives from different sectors and members of the press attended the summit. Huawei executives underlined the importance and benefits of cloud services for industries in their speeches at the event.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan said the following in his assessment:

“In this period when data is consumed very rapidly, data centers have to respond to needs very quickly. This needs to be done in a world where data is constantly increasing. It is estimated that the number of centers, large and small, that store and direct data traffic in the world is approaching 10 million, and these centers cover a physical area of nearly two billion square meters.

The security of data centers and cloud computing is of great importance for both institutions and individuals. When adequate precautions are not taken in cloud computing systems, major attacks can be made. Entire systems can be damaged, allocated resources can be changed without the knowledge of users, and unauthorized access to sensitive data can be achieved.

It is important for cloud computing service providers to take technical and legal measures to ensure the security of their users in terms of reducing the effects of risks. Data centers are growing rapidly in our country. The size of data centers is expected to reach 400,000 square meters in the near future.

These key technological services continue to build a more complete ecosystem of digital infrastructure and talent to accelerate the local digitization process. I would like to thank Huawei once again. I hope that the established data center will set an example for other actors of the sector and that more data centers will be established in our country in a short time. I would like to make a call to international companies from here. We say that Turkey’s data should stay in Turkey. Please increase the number of data centers in Turkey”

He emphasized the slogan “In Turkey, for Türkiye”. Shi said: “Building the cloud foundation for a digital Turkey is an important initiative of Huawei Cloud as it fulfills one of its important commitments to Turkey.

Türkiye has stepped into the era of public cloud today. Huawei has been serving in these lands for 21 years and is working resolutely to contribute to Turkey’s IT infrastructure. Huawei has more than 1,700 employees, over 90% of whom are local employees, in offices in Istanbul and Ankara.

Thus, Huawei indirectly creates employment for more than 8 thousand people in Turkey. Turkey positions ‘green and digital’ at the center of its national strategy, in line with Huawei’s vision.”

Tim Tao, President of Huawei Cloud Europe, said in his speech:

““”New cloud services will be available in three months. In today’s rapidly developing technological environment, for public and private sector enterprises in Turkey; Digital technologies such as cloud computing, 5G connectivity and artificial intelligence will reshape the future.

The digital economy accounts for about one-third of GDP and two-thirds of overall growth. Today, a $1 investment in digital technology has the potential to generate $3 growth in the digitalization process.

The impact of digital technology on corporate revenue is equally significant. In a global sample of 8,300 companies, those at the forefront of adopting digital technology see a significant five-fold increase in revenue growth compared to the bottom 25%.”

In his assessment, Frank Ma, Vice President of Huawei Europe Cloud Business Group, highlighted the importance of digital applications within the scope of Huawei Cloud, such as data, artificial intelligence, application modernization and native cloud services, which will help businesses get the most out of the cloud. He also gave information about the disaster response center that Huawei Cloud plans to commission in Ankara.
