Dusseldorf Investor sentiment on the markets around the world is depressed. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq have both hit their seventh consecutive week low, and the Dax is down 13 percent year-to-date. In addition, the crypto market collapsed after the massive drop in value of the stable coin Terra. The fear of losses is back – the main reasons for this are concerns about rising interest rates and an economic downturn. Markets have been bearish for weeks and investor sentiment plays a key role in this.

For many years, the subject of investor psychology has been neglected in finance. Poor returns, total losses or even overheated markets have, however, been provoked several times by a herd instinct.
