How to properly tax dividends – you ask, we answer

Dusseldorf For many investors, dividends are a regular source of income. Once you have invested in a stock, the money usually flows automatically. However, the correct taxation of these inflows is often no longer so convenient.

The tax aspects of dividends can be complex and wrong decisions can lead to unnecessary charges. Daniela Karbe-Gessler knows how to prevent this. She is head of the department for tax law and tax policy at the Association of Taxpayers.

In exchange with the tax office, for example, there is the option of determining losses: “If profits arise from the sale of shares, you can offset the losses realized from previous years,” says the tax expert. In the current episode, she answers listeners’ questions about the taxation of dividends.
