He got a life sentence! NFT Sold for $6.2 Million!

Silk Road’s notorious co-founder Ross Ulbricht, known as Dread Pirate Roberts, was arrested in 2013 and sentenced to life imprisonment for the sale of illegal products such as drugs and weapons.

Ross Ulbricht recently auctioned off his first NFT collection, the “Genesis Collection”, which consists of 10 writings and works of art he wrote throughout his life.

The NFT collection of Ulbricht, which is followed closely by crypto money investors, attracted great attention because the Silk Road platform, which he is the founder of, accepts payments with Bitcoin.

In the auction, which started on December 2 and ended on December 8, Ulbricht’s first NFT collection was sold for 1446 Ethereum for approximately $6.2 million.

The NFT collection was acquired by FreeRossDAO, the decentralized autonomous organization founded to help Ulbricht break out of jail.

The FreeRossDAO platform said in a statement that “all proceeds from the Genesis Collection will be used to fund new legal actions by FreeRossDao and will go to the Art4Giving fund, which was created to raise awareness.”

According to data from NonFungible, Ulbricht’s NFT was among the biggest sales recorded in the market in the past seven days.
