Dusseldorf If you have the feeling that your boss has narcissistic traits, you are not alone. Several studies show that narcissism is more prevalent in executive positions than in the general population. And that’s no coincidence: Because narcissistic behavior patterns favor the ascent to positions of power.

People with narcissistic traits are self-confident to the point of self-aggrandizement, pushing forward and striving for power. You impress superiors with inspiring ideas and brilliant moments. You can be charming, visionary and convincing.

It is less easy for someone who has to work under such a boss. Instead of motivating their employees, narcissistic bosses lead with pressure. They are often addicted to control and incapable of criticism, act selfishly, manipulatively and scheming. Does that apply to your boss?
