Virgin Galactic has made its first commercial space flight!
Virgin Galactic, the space company owned by Sir Richard Branson, launched its first commercial space flight yesterday. In this commercial flight, which excited many space enthusiasts, both the first tests were carried out and the answer to the question of what it would be like to experience space without having the title of astronaut. The first images from the flight, which brought many firsts, were shared today.
The flight, called Galactic 01, marks the beginning of a new era for Virgin Galactic. With Virgin Galactic, it is expressed that the days when we will buy a space ticket just like buying a bus ticket in the whole world. A first commercial flight for Virgin Galactic, we can’t say that it actually went to the Moon, but in the near future it will be possible for us to buy a ticket to the Moon.
Galactic 01 had three researchers from the Italian Air Force and the Italian National Research Council. In addition, a Virgin Galactic astronaut trainer accompanying the three passengers was inside the vehicle. A total of 6 people, including the pilots, made the first commercial space flight for Virgin Galactic.
This first flight was not actually designed for passengers to have a full experience of space. Commercial flights are desired to be a little more science-oriented rather than entertainment in the first place. In this context, a total of 13 experiments were carried out in a partially gravity-free environment for a certain period of time.
