Dusseldorf During the first wave of the pandemic, many employees had to set up their home office spontaneously and often on a temporary basis. But even two years later, two out of three employees still complain that their employer does not do enough to ensure that they have a decent workplace at home.
This is shown by the “Home Office Check” developed by the Stuttgart Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics together with the service provider Home Office Total. Those who work at a distance can use it to check how safe and ergonomic their own work situation is far away from the company headquarters.
Only a third of the currently around 400 respondents say that the employer is trying to “improve satisfaction in the home office”. The questionnaire taps out the most important points in the areas of work environment, atmosphere and equipment.
The checklist system awards points for each question, a total of 100 be achieved. From 90 points, the home office is safe even with long-term use and also harmless to health.
