Does SEC Know Bitcoin Inventor Satoshi Nakamoto?

A new claim suggested that the US regulator SEC held a meeting with Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto in 2017.

Allegedly the SEC and Tim Draper know the Bitcoin founder

Cryptocurrencies have become a trillion-dollar market since 2009, led by Bitcoin. Interestingly, despite the past decade, Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin, remains a mystery. To date, the media has given way to countless speculations about who the founder is. Some even claimed to be the founder behind Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Now, a Fox Business reporter says the SEC held a meeting with Satoshi Nakamoto and Tim Draper. In her most recent tweets, Eleanor Terrett claimed that the SEC and Tim Draper knew who Satoshi Nakamoto was.

According to Terrett’s tweet, SEC official Valerie Szczepanik held a meeting with Tim Draper and Satoshi. Allegedly, the meeting took place at the SEC office on August 23, 2017. It’s worth noting that this assumption was made after Hinman received a copy of his public calendar during his time with the SEC.

Fake Satoshi Nakamoto(s)

Interestingly, the meeting never remained a secret. That’s because Draper had already shared on Twitter that they had a meeting three days later. The billionaire investor claimed, in a tweet on August 25, that a “fake Satoshi” wasted his time and was too credible and was the victim of this scam. Everyone was asked by Draper to be careful not to fall for a Satoshi scam. Terrett later acknowledged the existence of a fake Satoshi at the meeting between Draper and the SEC.

Meanwhile, The Verge, a popular news outlet, shared information about the meeting. The fake claimed that Satoshi had a lengthy conversation with Draper about an ICO that attracted the attention of some key figures in the cryptocurrency market. However, Draper dropped the deal when he realized he was talking to a fake Satoshi. According to the text in The Verge’s report:

Tim Draper, a prominent Bitcoin investor, and the alleged Satoshi were in talks for a fresh new ICO throughout August, but these talks abruptly ended after Draper lost faith in the plan late last week.

Names presumed to be the founders of Bitcoin

Dorian Nakamoto is a Japanese engineer with the same surname as the Bitcoin founder. He is also Hal Finney’s neighbor. However, he denied all the allegations and said it was just a coincidence.

By the way, Australian scientist Craig Wright claimed for a long time that he was Satoshi. But research revealed that Wright was just speculating. Even Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin opposed Wright. She publicly called him a fraud.
