The pedals under the piano, Are you one of those who think it is just decoration? Then you are greatly mistaken!
In fact, these pedals is like the heart of the piano and each performs a unique function.
The damper pedal on the right side controls the dampers inside the piano.
Dampers are small felt pads that sit against the piano strings. When you press a piano key, the damper for that key lifts and letting the strings vibrate allows sound to be produced.

That’s why pianists often hold down the damper pedal for a few notes and then “clears” the sound by lifting one’s foot and then presses this pedal again.

OK then What does the middle pedal do? If you press the middle pedal while holding down a note, that note will continue to play even if you lift your finger, but the notes you play afterwards will only play as long as you hold it down.
