Also blue laser compared to red laser uses a tighter wavelength and allows manufacturers to transfer more data onto a disc the same size as a DVD. For example, a single-layer disc provides up to 25 GB of storage, while Blu-ray has 50 GB.
Again, DVD’s data is sandwiched between layers on the disc, while Blu-ray’s disc’s data is closer to the surface.
This means that the data pits on the disc are much smaller than on a DVD, allowing it to be read using a smaller beam. At this point, another question comes to mind: If the name of Blu-ray is based on the use of blue laser, Why isn’t it called “Blue-ray”?
Because in order for the name to be registered as a trademark, “e”, fdeliberately sidelined by the group of companies that developed the project and a fairly commonly used word like blue cannot be trademarked.
