Dax rises to new record high – decision on future direction is imminent

Frankfurt On the German stock market, the Dax has reached a record high. The new record is 16,332.67 points, the old one was 16,331.89 points. In midday trading, however, the Dax is back at 16,314 points, an increase of 0.5 percent. The decline after the new record high shows how difficult it is to sustainably break through this mark.

The situation is so interesting because the highs of three consecutive years are almost on the same level. In 2021 the stock market barometer reached 16,290 points, in 2022 it was 16,285 points. For Jörg Scherer, technical analyst at HSBC Germany, “the triple cap marks a very important pacemaker”.

The daring forecast: If the Dax marks a new record high in the long term, it should then go up several 100 points. “Sustainable” means: a new record high at the end of the day, and the following day the leading index opened above 16,332 points, the current record mark.
