Dax closes slightly in the red after a brilliant week – why the 16,300 point mark is crucial

Dusseldorf After a brilliant week on the stock market, the situation on the German stock market calmed down for the time being. At the end of trading, the leading index Dax was down 0.2 percent at 16,105 points. On a weekly basis, a profit of more than three percent is emerging – the best result since the end of March.

In the afternoon, the Dax received support from the USA and was able to limit its initial loss. Here, the quarterly figures from the major bank JP Morgan were better than expected. You are starting the groundbreaking second-quarter reporting season on a positive note.

It is not unusual for the Dax to take a break after the recent rally. The Frankfurt stock exchange barometer already initiated a trend reversal last Friday, after initially falling to its lowest price in 16 weeks, but finally closing in positive territory. Four more trading days with profits followed – no winning streak lasted longer this year.
