Following the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey founded an alternative platform called Bluesky with partners including Jay Graber. Bluesky, which currently only accepts members by invitation, has appeared before users with its new logo along with some changes. Here are the details…
Bluesky is on the agenda with its new logo
Bluesky, which was first introduced in 2021, began to be developed as a decentralized social media protocol. Jack Dorsey, who wanted to establish a new social media platform after X (Twitter) was sold, turned the Bluesky project into a social media platform.
Bluesky, which draws attention with its Twitter-like features and design, is under fire because membership can only be made by invitation. According to a blog post from Bluesky CEO Jay Graber, you no longer need to log in to view posts on the platform. You can now see posts from both the web and the Bluesky app.
If you want to prevent non-logged-in users from seeing your posts, you can disable it by clicking a toggle switch in the settings. However, Bluesky notes that “other apps may not honor this request” and that switching does not make your account private.
A note below the button states, “Bluesky is an open and public network.” Making a statement on the subject, Graber said, “This setting only limits the visibility of your content on the Bluesky application and website, and other applications may not comply with this setting. It is worth noting that posts on the Bluesky platform are always publicly available through developer tools and other applications.” He stated:
Making a statement about the company’s new logo, Graber said, “Butterfly explains our mission of transforming social media into something new. I think the butterfly is a huge improvement over the general blue sky. And as my colleague Parker Ortolani points out, the app has a fun animation that will look familiar to Twitter fans. (I mean Twitter, not X.)” he said.
