Munich Billionaire August von Finck Jr. is dead. Von Finck died in London at the age of 91. A person from the entrepreneur’s environment confirmed reports to the Handelsblatt, “Süddeutsche Zeitung” and “Münchner Merkur” first reported about the death.
Von Finck was considered one of the richest Germans. Among other things, he held the majority in the Mövenpick hotel group until 2018. In addition, he secured the naming rights of the precious metal group Degussa and built up Germany’s largest independent precious metal dealer.
In addition, von Finck participated in a number of Swiss industrial groups, such as Von Roll and Lonza. In Switzerland, he also controls the Von Roll private bank. In Germany he caused a stir several times with large donations to the FDP and the AfD.
