The Ax-3 mission, which will send Alper Gezeravcı to the International Space Station, was planned to be carried out tonight. However, SpaceX and Axiom announced that the mission has been postponed until tomorrow.
Pilot Alper Gezeravcı would be the first Turk to go into space, breaking new ground for Turkey today. The Ax-3 mission, in which Gezeravcı will take part, was normally planned to be carried out tonight at 01.11 Turkish lira in the US state of Florida.
However, in the past few minutes, a statement came from SpaceX and Axiom Space, which will organize the mission. In the statement, it was announced that the mission was postponed.
The mission will take place on Thursday, January 18
According to SpaceX’s statement, the Ax-3 mission, which will be launched with Falcon 9, will not take place before Thursday, January 18. This means the task is postponed until tomorrow. The company says the additional time will allow teams time to conduct pre-launch vehicle checks and data analysis.
Now for launch, according to SpaceX night between Thursday and Friday at 00.49 CEST is targeted.
