ASELSAN completed the AESA radar with 100 percent domestic chip!- SDN

Today, we witnessed one more important step being taken for Turkey’s independence in defense technologies. This is the success of the national AESA (Active Electronic Scanning Array) radar technology, developed by ASELSAN and produced with 100 percent domestic and national resources, from chip level to the latest system integration. As a matter of fact, it made its first flight with the F-16 ÖZGÜR platform.

ASELSAN’s production of the AESA radar system, completely with national resources, without making any mistakes, from chip level to final system integration, showed the whole world how far our domestic defense capabilities have moved.

Domestic production chip technology forms the heart of ASELSAN’s AESA radar. In fact, this is proof that a technological competence that can compete worldwide has been achieved. Let’s take a closer look at this special chip technology.

Now let the USA think: Aselsan AESA radar made its first flight!

By using a Gallium Nitrate (GaN) chip, the performance and durability of radar systems are significantly increased. Thanks to this chip technology, radars become faster, more efficient and can operate in a wider spectrum. These chips, developed by ASELSAN, reduce foreign dependency and provide both technological independence and technological superiority over many countries.

The AESA radar, developed on a domestically produced chip, allows combat aircraft to gain superiority in air-air and air-ground operations. Because it enables features such as detecting and tracking many targets simultaneously, beyond-visual missile guidance and creating high-resolution ground images. Additionally, let’s say that it also includes electronic warfare functions, and this alone is a factor in changing the course of the battle.

Another good thing about this development is the doors it will open in the future. Because it can be used on many platforms, especially new generation warplanes like Kaan, unmanned combatants like Kızılelma, UAVs like Akıncı and TAI Aksungur, and UAVs like TAI Anka-3 MIUS.
