According to information leaked by MacRumors, Apple’s second generation mixed reality glasses will have the same design lines as its predecessor. The R&D process of the device, which is stated to be introduced with the same curved design and button layout as the first model, started with the Project Alaska code.

According to sources, the R&D designs of the new headset do not include the round areas that housed the speakers in the first version. Instead, Apple will place “temples that are straight and regular along its length” on the device.

Apple TV quietly gained 3D movie support. This preparation for Vision Pro shows that Apple will keep its promise.

Documents uncovered by MacRumors reference an audio accessory, but no details are available. Analysts suggest that this could be an external speaker.

Apple is allegedly considering two different designs for the top vents, with one being the same as the vents on the first-generation Apple Vision Pro, and the other featuring two sets of smaller holes. Another change will be the transition to the flat strap design commonly used in backpacks.

Analysts suggest that Apple Vision Pro may continue to use the external battery, which was also available for its first version.

The technical specifications of the Apple Vision Pro 2 model are as follows;

  • 2 micro-OLED displays
  • 1 TrueDepth camera
  • 4 computer vision (CV) cameras
  • 2 RGB cameras
  • 2 low-light infrared illuminators
  • Semi-automatic interpupillary distance (IPD) adjuster
  • Compass, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, accelerometer, gyroscope
