Apple supplier Foxconn and Luxshare are in the electric car market!
Taiwan-based Foxconn, which was commissioned by Apple to assemble iPhones, said that it will enter the electric car market in North America by the end of 2023, and the first vehicle will be released in the near future. He even stated that he received the necessary approval last year, but various studies conducted in the USA and Mexico to determine the appropriate location for the facility took a long time due to the pandemic.
Another supplier company, China-based Luxshare, entered the market as a partner of Chery Group, which has no organic ties with Apple, in order to produce electric cars. But it could also be an important partnership for Apple’s future Apple Car plans, as it will be the company’s first Chinese market experience.
According to the claims brought up by DigiTimes Asia, Apple will make the first car model ready for mass production in the next year or two (possibly by 2025). However, it is stated that the prototype has not yet reached the testing stage.
