8 Turkish Youth Selected to “100 Rise Global” List

“100 young people in the age range of 15-17 are determined all over the world and these young people are supported for life in their efforts to serve humanity, and a total of 1 billion dollars is allocated”100 Rise GlobalThis year’s winners of the list have been announced. This year among young people identified by the Schmidt Futures and Rhodes Foundation 8 Turkish names also took place.

The list, which was applied by young people from a total of 170 countries, included young people who aim to support literacy and predict the effects of Alzheimer’s drugs with the help of bioinformatics, develop sustainable gummy vitamins that fight anemia, and educate communities about prejudices against mental health. Turkish names and projects in the list shared as follows:

Turkish young people who have a lifetime scholarship and support opportunity in the international arena:

• Adanur Nas (Diyarbakir): Adanur has designed a website and application that voices important phrases for students with hearing impairment. He also prepared a booklet, held conferences at his school, and gave robotics lessons to hearing-impaired children.
• Dila Öner (Istanbul): Dila designed a free audiobook website for visually impaired students and founded a book club.
• Efe Sakarya (Diyarbakir): Efe has developed a device to measure and reduce the toxicity level caused by the algae system and hydrogen sulfide.
• Elif Naz Yilmaz (Istanbul): Elif founded the Broken Hearts Movement, which gives free seminars to minority groups on the importance of mental health, and launched an NFT collection to raise funds.
• Emrullah Dorukhan Cakir (Istanbul): Emrullah designed a role-playing game based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to practice planning skills.
• İdil Doga Turkmen (Mersin): To pave the way for future space exploration, Idil developed a method for collecting space junk with the help of an electromagnet and the moon’s gravity.
• Lütfi Heysem Kiziloglu (Istanbul): Lütfü has developed an application that includes cities in its efforts to instill a love of nature in children and to create more natural spaces that will support health.
• Zeynep İpek Kayali (Istanbul): İpek created the Ever-Changing Tree, a short story and illustrations that help young people with mental health problems understand that change is a natural part of our lives.

The 100 Rise Global list included only 3 Turkish youth last year. Rise Global winners will receive need-based scholarships, coaching, career development opportunities, fundraising potential for their future ventures, technology packages and more to empower them to achieve their goals while working to serve others.
