The world’s first 14.5-inch OLED laptop with 2.8K resolution, 120 Hz, with a second screen. This screen also has touch support.

The fact that a thin and light computer with a weight of only 1.7 kg and a thickest point of 17.9 mm comes with a performance processor such as Intel Core i7 12900H and RTX 3050 Ti discrete graphics. I was very surprised by the combination of these features, but watch the review until the end, the computer has a lot of features that will surprise us.

World’s first 14.5” 2.8K (2880 x 1800) 120 Hz OLED touchscreen

The computer we reviewed uses a 14.5-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2.8K, that is, 2880 x 1800 pixels. The refresh rate of this OLED screen is 120 Hz. The latency of the screen is only 0.2ms.

The screen, which has a 16:10 ratio, also supports 100 percent DCI-P3 and 133 percent sRGB color gamut. The brightness of the screen can go up to 550 nits. It also has HDR support.

With the Asus Pen 2.0 support, you can draw and take notes on both screens with the pen, which offers 4096 press level support.

IThe second screen is 12.7 inches ScreenPad Plus

Asus, the second screen with a size of 12.7 inches and a resolution of 2.8K has a 120 Hz screen refresh. This screen is called ScreenPad Plus.

This screen, which has touch support, also has a special anti-glare coating, pen support and 500 nits brightness.

It fascinates not only with the screen and image quality, but also with the computer sound experience we reviewed. Developed with Harman Kardon, the Dolby Atmos supported speakers offer a loud and full sound. In addition, this sound gives an environmental effect thanks to Dolby Atmos.

The notebook, which has 4 microphones on it, processes both your voice and the voices coming from the speaker, together with artificial intelligence, and offers you maximum sound quality both in your meetings and in all other content.

In addition, the front camera with infrared support processes the image with artificial intelligence and allows you to have a good experience in meetings.

Why two screens?

You have seen many people using a desktop computer with two monitors. Especially in business life, the use of two monitors is quite common.

The Asus Zenbook Pro Duo offers us a two-screen experience on a thin and light notebook. With the ScreenPad Plus screen, you can use it especially when making fine adjustments in applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. Thus, you can allocate a larger area to the project you are working on on the main screen of the computer.

You can also do your work in two windows by dragging the windows between the two screens. For example, while watching a video on the lower screen, you can produce content for the video you watch on the main screen and write the text. You can perform many scenarios that you can think of between two screens, and the transitions are really high performance.

Don’t just think of it as video processing, especially with the pen support on the screen, designers and musicians can easily choose this computer for both recording and quick editing.

Design and input and output units

The Asus ZenBook Pro 14 Duo OLED, which comes with the touchpad placed to the right of the keyboard, makes it easy to use with its ultra-smooth touchpad surface. In addition, the device has the ability to show fingerprints less on its screens, generally on the case and on the touchpad.

The pressing feel and ease of use of the keyboard keys are successful. You can use it comfortably with 1.4 mm key distances.

The keyboard and touchpad, which it calls Asus Ergosense, may seem unusual, but it is in a structure that you can easily get used to and work quickly after a short time of use.

When we look at the input and output ports, we see that Asus is also generous in this area. Offering two 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 4 supported USB Type C connections, the computer supports both data transfer, fast charging and 4K image transfer.

The computer, which comes with a USB 3.2 A-type port and HDMI 2.1 connection, also comes with the latest and high-performance SD Express 7.0 card reader, as well as ambitious features for content producers. With SD Express 7.0, you can reach speeds of up to 985 MB per second.

Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402 specifications

The Asus ZenBook Pro 14 Duo OLED model, which we reviewed, has a very powerful hardware as well as being light and thin.

It uses Intel’s 12th generation powerful processor Core i9-12900H processor. This processor, which has a total of 14 physical cores, has 6 cores as performance cores and 8 cores as efficiency cores. It is a processor that works with a total of 20 cores together with virtual cores with Hyper Threading.

The processor, which has 24 MB of cache, can increase its speed up to 5 GHz with Turbo Boost.

The computer, which has both a powerful processor and an external graphics card, comes with an effective cooling system despite its thin structure. Along with Asus IceCool Plus, the dual fan cooling system provides 38 percent higher airflow. The system, which is supported by 2 heat pipes of 8mm, works in standard mode with less than 40 decibels of silence. In addition, it can cool a total of 85 watts of TDP power on the processor and graphics card side.

Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 14 OLED, which has both Intel’s internal graphics processor and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti discrete graphics card supported by Nvidia Studio drivers, can switch between internal and external graphics card according to power consumption and usage scenario.

The Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti showcases its real-time ray tracing capability in professional applications along with Studio drivers. The graphics card, which accelerates image processing times with artificial intelligence support, also accelerates image processing times with CUDA units.

In our test, in Adobe Premiere Pro, we were able to process an 11-minute video with a capacity of 30GB, in 4K resolution, in about 9 minutes. These values are quite good, especially for a portable and light computer. In addition, with the video memory of 4 GB, you can make instant changes in video and photo processing without any problems and hassle.

The computer, which uses 32 GB DDR5 RAM running at 4800 MHz and an SSD in the PCI Express 4.0 interface with 1 TB capacity, is on Intel’s EVO platform.
