The person known as “Miss Sus” is Dilek Tunca.

Dilek Tunca is the owner of this photograph, which is perhaps one of the first images that come to our mind when we say “nurse”. Actually, she’s not a nurse. At the time when this photo was taken, she was living in tourism, modeling and photo modeling.

In the summer of 1967, they were called by the Istanbul Advertising Agency and said that they wanted to put a “hush sign” in hospitals and that they needed a model for this. Dilek Tunca, who was in her 20s at the time, had previously acted in detergent commercials and even had a namesake character. She was “Miss Omo”.

There weren’t many models back then.

According to Dilek Tunca, there was a model group of 10-12 people at that time. There was no such thing as a casting agency or the agencies they were affiliated with, and Advertising agencies would call and let you know.

They chose Dilek Tunca for the “Miss Sus” photo. Tunca returned from Germany and went to have the photo taken the very next day. They borrowed the clothes from the head nurse of a hospital. From that day on She was known both as a nurse and her name was “Miss Sus”.

“When I go to the hospital, the nurses and doctors look at me and I feel familiar and familiar. They start to behave unintentionally close. I’m laughing a lot about this situation. In fact, one day, when I went to the ophthalmologist, the doctor looked at me and said, ‘Your face looks familiar from somewhere.’ said. My photo was hanging right behind it. I laughed secretly and said, ‘Of course it could be.’ I said. “I usually don’t say that woman is me.”
